Alabama native Courteney Cox is adding to her directing credits with a new music video from Brandi Carlile.

It’s a fitting turn given that Cox, who was born in Birmingham, first rose to prominence as an actress with her appearance in Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” video in 1984 before going on to superstardom as a cast member of the hit TV show “Friends.”

Brandi Carlile used social media to credit Cox and announce the video for “Right On Time” will premiere at 9 a.m. July 21.

This will be the first official music release from Carlile since 2018’s “By the Way, I Forgive You” album. Last year, Carlile released her best-selling autobiography “Broken Horses.”

In April, Cox released a video on her Instagram account performing with Carlile on the singer-songwriter’s hit song “The Joke,” with Carlile playing guitar and singing and Cox playing piano.
